Using voice to text for sales notes

Capturing notes is key to keeping track of your conversation, but “thumb typing” can be a pain. To help with this, Martin leverages your phone’s voice-to-text capability. With voice-to-text, you’ll find you’ll take more, richer notes and never again lose track of your customer conversation.

Using voice to text is fairly straightforward. Simply follow the steps below and you’re off.

  • Scroll down for notes panel: all outcome screens have a notes panel above Update
  • Touch screen in notes section: this will bring up your keyboard
  • Select the microphone: this will open the voice screen
  • Record your note:  speak clearly into the mic to capture your comment & save

This is a great opportunity to capture some really good notes. The voice to text features on most handsets work really well today, but there are some tips to getting the most out of it.

1. Limit background noise

  • It’s going to have a hard time understanding you if you’re in a noisy room or on the street

2. Speak clearly

  • The artificial intelligence is clever but will struggle with rushed speech
  • Speak at normal pace with pauses between thoughts
  • Avoid running words together

3. Remember to hit pause/ stop

  • If you are interrupted – just hit pause – when ready to restart hit pause again
  • At the end hit stop and exit – its easy to forget and capture part of your next conversation!
