Managing notifications NEW
The Martin application notifies you of new leads and required actions. The app supports both notifications via SMS message and via phone push notifications.
Tip: Phone notifications are affected by your phone’s power-saving feature, or by your telco and may be delayed or deactivated. It is recommended to only enable SMS notifications. SMS notifications are real-time and very reliable. There is generally no delay in receiving SMS messages.
Calendar preferences
Martin allows you to automatically add meetings and or calls to your calendar. By default, your meetings are set to be added, but this can be adjusted. Whatever you choose here, you have the opportunity to override it when setting up a call or meeting in the app.
Meeting invitations
Your meeting invitations are set by default to go out via both email and SMS. This setting can be adjusted here. Again, you will have a chance whenever you set up a meeting in the app, to override this.
Martin now offers a function to send yourself a meeting invite so you can add to your desk cal. It works as follows:
1. Automate via Preferences

- Email to self will be selected in all meetings
- You can deselect it in the invite if needed
2. Control by invite
- Leave it turned off in preferences
- Where you want to add a particular meeting
- Select “On” in the meeting settings
3. Future integration
- We’re working on something more structured
- Automatically add to your MS Office calendar
- Appear in all locations – mobile/ desktop etc
Meeting reminders
On top of this, Martin now offers an automated meeting reminder to reduce the risk of no-shows. It works as follows:
1. Set your preferences
- Open your profile
- Turn “enable reminder” on
- Select an option
- Send 8.30am morning of meeting
- Send 5.00pm day prior to meeting
2. SMS is sent automatically for all meetings
- Text standardised per other alerts
- From your mobile #
- If client replies – comes to your SMS inbox
Tip: remember you always have the opportunity to change the calendar or email setting for an individual call or meeting.
List order
There are many lists in Martin and you have control over how they are ordered. Some folks prefer their lists to start at the beginning and work forward, while others prefer to start today and work back. Fortunately, Martin gives you the ability to set a preference with this one control.
